Mobile Area Rugby Foundation Relocates to the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley
The Mobile Airport Authority Working With Rugby Foundation To Grow Their Community Based Program & Facilities
August 12, 2016…Mobile, AL: The Mobile Area Rugby Foundation has found a new home at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley. The Mobile Airport Authority (MAA) welcomes the Rugby Foundation to their new temporary offices located at 1891 Ninth St, Mobile, AL 36615. The Foundation’s mission is to introduce, form, and build a competitive venue for rugby at all levels in Mobile and Baldwin counties using a foundation-based approach that will result in a sustainable model for continued rugby program development.
The office serves as the base camp for the Rugby Foundations construction of a new facility at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, which will serve as a practice facility for the competitive organization and also the launching point for the Rugby Foundation’s youth outreach programs.
"The partnership with the Mobile Area Rugby Foundation is a true meeting of the minds and missions. Rugby is very popular with many of our international tenants and it is one more campus amenity, ‘a ball club to call our own’, for our tenants to focus around. We were most attracted to their commitment to youth programs in neighboring schools, which is part of our holistic work force development approach. Rugby like many team sports reinforces many of the critical soft skills required in the highly regulated and team oriented aerospace industry. We could not be happier with this newest partnership”, stated Roger Wehner, Executive Director.
