Mobile Regional Airport Reports 6.2% Increase in Passenger Traffic for June 2018

July 24, 2018 Mobile, AL: Mobile Regional Airport today released passenger enplanement numbers for June 2018, as reported by the airlines serving Mobile. A total of 27,570 passengers boarded commercial aircraft at Mobile Regional Airport this June, compared to 25,939 in June 2017.
American Airlines saw the largest increase at 11.2% over last June, followed by Delta Air Lines with a 3.2% bump in traffic, and United Airlines with a 1.7% increase. Via Airlines is the newest air carrier serving Mobile and they added 198 passengers to the total. Mobile Airport Authority Executive Director, Chris Curry, states "that an increased focus by MAA to grow air service is helping to drive the increase. MAA has been very active marketing our Airports, working with existing carriers and our newest carrier, Via Air to increase capacity to markets served. The rise in passenger traffic demonstrates that customers in our region will respond favorably.”
Current carriers serving Mobile Regional Airport are: Amercian Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Via Airlines. These carriers serve 6 non-stop desinations from Mobile, which include Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Orlando Sanford.
