Mobile Regional Airport Reports Best August Traffic Since 2011
15.2% Growth Is Fourth Consecutive Month of Increases
September 25, 2018 Mobile, AL: Mobile Regional Airport today released passenger enplanement numbers for August 2018, as reported by the airlines serving Mobile. A total of 25,740 passengers boarded commercial aircraft at Mobile Regional Airport this August, compared to 22,380 in August 2017.
United Airlines saw the largest increase at 29.8% over last August, followed by Delta Air Lines with a 12.1% jump in traffic, and American Airlines with a 9.6% increase. Via Airlines is the newest air carrier serving Mobile and they added 118 passengers to the total. Mobile Airport Authority Executive Director, Chris Curry, states "We have always known that our market would respond positively to increased capacity as demonstrated by our August report. The Airlines have heard our plea to place more mainline aircraft at Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) and I hope this trend will continue.
Current carriers serving Mobile Regional Airport are: American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Via Airlines. These carriers serve five (5) non-stop destinations from Mobile to Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston and Orlando-Sanford.
