Mobile Regional Airport Records 2.5% Increase In Enplaned Passenger Traffic In July 2016
August 9, 2016 Mobile, AL: Mobile Regional Airport today released passenger enplanement numbers for July 2016. A total of 26,556 passengers boarded commercial aircraft, at Mobile Regional Airport. This is in comparison to July 2015 when 25,920 passengers flew commercially from Mobile Regional. This is the first time since February 2015 there has been a noteable increase in passenger traffic.
This marks a 2.5% increase over June 2015. The number of passengers boarding aircraft at Mobile Regional so far in 2016 is 170,499. The total number of passengers using Mobile Regional Airport year to date in 2016 is 342,812.
Mobile Airport Authority Executive Director, Roger Wehner stated "MAA has been prosecuting a diligent Air Service Development strategy to increase options for the community. Our airline partners, in particular Delta and United, have responded with larger aircraft which have more seats and two-class service options and we are thrilled at how the community has responded, resulting in a 2.5% increase in passenger traffic.”
Airlines serving Mobile Regional Airport are Amercian Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines. These carriers serve 5 non-stop desinations from Mobile, to include Atlanta, Charotte, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston.
