This position is responsible for the administrative and professional work management and coordination of multiple aspects of the Mobile Airport Authority’s Marketing and Communications Program. Work is performed under the general direction of the President, but the position requires the application of considerable independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assignments to a successful conclusion. Work is evaluated through review of results attained.
Coordinates the promotion of all services and opportunities offered by the Mobile Airport Authority and the development and implementation of specific marketing efforts. Works closely with airport staff, vendors, airlines and others to coordinate marketing efforts and ensure that airport facilities are reflective of a superior customer service environment. Coordinates the preparation of press releases, brochures, memoranda, letters, reports and other internal and external communications. Manages and directs the placement of indoor print and digital advertising, informational displays, signage and public art. Ensures the currency and accuracy of information on the airport’s website and social media accounts. Collects and analyzes airport statistical information and distributes to Airport management, industry representatives and general public. Collaborates with advertising agencies and vendors, manages the preparation of an annual marketing budget for the airport.
Coordinates, plans, and organizes events, presentations, meetings, etc. on behalf of the Airport. Interfaces routinely with airline officials, Chamber of Commerce members, travel agencies, visitors, information bureau staff, and industry trade groups. Reviews and approves invoices from vendors. Performs related work as required.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Computer, calculator, copier, office machines.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Thorough knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and ordinances governing the activities of the department. Thorough knowledge of departmental rules and regulations. Thorough knowledge of Airport rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to develop and implement long-term marketing goals. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports. Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and public officials. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
Minimum Training and Experience
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing, or related field; and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a highly responsible marketing or communications capacity.
Mental and Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, and crouch. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Generally, works in an office environment; must adapt to changing working environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Some jobs may require an employee to be exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions.
