Adam Hays

J. Adam Hays, Acting Executive Director of the Mobile Airport Authority, was appointed on March 25, 2026. In this role, he is leading day-to-day operations and the continued development of the new Mobile International Airport terminal.

Hays has served as Chief Development Officer for the Mobile Airport Authority, working closely on the development of the Mobile International Airport project. A Mobile-area professional, he brings more than 15 years of experience in aerospace engineering and program management, most recently with Airbus in Mobile, where he led major aircraft programs and collaborated with global teams to deliver complex projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. Hays holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Alabama.

Hays and his wife, Julie, have been married for 20 years and have three daughters, ages 19, 15, and 10. They are members of Cottage Hill Baptist Church. With strong ties to the local community, Hays brings a practical, team-focused approach to leadership as the Authority continues its work serving Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
