Mobile Airport Authority Board Appoints Acting Executive Director

MOBILE, Ala. (March 25, 2026) — The Mobile Airport Authority Board ratified the resignation of Executive Director Andy Wilson and appointed an Acting Executive Director during a special called meeting this afternoon.

 

Adam Hays, Chief Development Officer, will serve as Acting Executive Director. He will be joined by Thomas Wallace, Chief Operating Officer, and Mike Gunn, Director of Airports. Collectively, their expertise will ensure that both operational and construction activities continue without interruption.

 

“We have a strong team in place, and I’m confident in their ability to lead during this transition,” said Mobile Airport Authority Chairman Sandy Stimpson. “Adam, Thomas, and Mike each bring deep experience and a clear understanding of our priorities, particularly as we continue work on the new Mobile International Airport terminal. Our focus remains on maintaining continuity in our operations and keeping the project moving forward.”

 

“I have full confidence the Mobile Airport Authority Board of Directors made the right decision in naming Adam Hays acting executive director,” said Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis. “Together, the board and wonderful MAA staff are equipped to overcome the challenges and seize the opportunities as they near completion of substantial construction on the Mobile International Airport terminal project.”

The Board will begin the process of identifying the Authority’s next Executive Director.
