Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) Secures $3 Million for Mobile Airport Authority Infrastructure Enhancements

MOBILE, Ala. (February 5, 2026) The Mobile Airport Authority will receive $3 million in federal funding for airport tarmac improvements at Mobile International Airport (BFM) following the President’s signature on the Fiscal Year 2026 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill.

 

Congress approved the funding as part of the FY26 federal appropriations package.

 

“This investment supports critical improvements as we continue planning for future growth at Mobile International Airport,” said Luckett Robinson, Chairman of the Mobile Airport Authority. “We appreciate Senator Katie Britt’s leadership and advocacy in helping secure this funding and keeping Mobile’s aviation needs a priority.”

 

Andy Wilson, Executive Director of the Mobile Airport Authority, added, “Strong airfield infrastructure supports safe, efficient operations. This funding allows us to make targeted improvements that benefit airlines, tenants, and our community. We are grateful to Senator Britt and her office for helping prioritize this important funding that will benefit the continued expansion efforts at the Mobile International Airport.”
