American Airlines Upgrading Service at Mobile Regional Airport with Larger Jets
80,000 New Seats in/out of Mobile Annually, 1st Class Service to Charlotte & Dallas
Mobile Regional Airport today announced American Airlines has scheduled a major upgrade to their service provided at Mobile Regional Airport with added capacity and business class seats to both hubs they serve from Mobile (MOB).
The Dallas (DFW) route currently has three daily departures flown with a 50 seat CRJ-200 aircraft. Starting March 6th, 2017 all three flights will be served with a CRJ-900 aircraft, which has 9 first class seats and 76 total seats.
The Charlotte (CLT) route has four daily departures currently flown with a 50 seat CRJ-200 aircraft. Starting April 4th, 2017 two of the four departures with be flown with CRJ-700 aircraft, which have 9 first class seats and 65 total seats.
This represents an increase of over 40,000 departing seats annually, and over 80,000 extra seats to the Mobile market. Passengers traveling East or West can now book first class tickets on American Airlines to both hubs they serve from Mobile.

American Airlines is investing in our community by adding an additional 80,000 available seats to this market annually, using larger aircraft and providing 1st Class service for their customers. It’s our hope everyone will evaluate American Airlines service to Dallas and Charlotte as they plan their travel” stated Roger Wehner, Executive Director Mobile Airport Authority.
