Mobile Regional Airport Passenger Traffic Jumps 18% In November The Largest Increase Since 1995

Mobile Regional Airport today released passenger enplanement numbers for November 2016 as reported by the airlines serving Mobile.  A total of 26,713 passengers boarded commercial aircraft at Mobile Regional Airport. Compared to November 2015 when 22,597 passengers flew from Mobile Regional Airport. This is the largest year over year increase dating back to 1995.

Mobile Regional Airport has seen positive growth for seven consecutive months. In 2016, eight out of the last eleven months have seen passenger traffic increases compared to 2015. 

The number of passengers boarding aircraft (enplanements)  at Mobile Regional Airport so far in 2016 is 274,557. The total number of passengers using Mobile Regional Airport this year is 552,132.  

“While we still have a long way to go the results in 2016 are undeniable.  Our pragmatic and diligent engagement with our airline partners has helped to increase competition, resulted in lower fares, and increased passengers traffic.  This is a prelude of many new positive developments to come in 2017”  said Mobile Airport Authority Executive Director,  Roger Wehner.  

Airlines serving Mobile Regional Airport are American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines. These carriers serve 5 non-stop destinations from Mobile, which include Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston.
