TSA / Security

All security checkpoints at Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) are located on the second-floor of the terminal.

Getting everyone to their destination safely takes time. We recommend passengers arrive 90 minutes before domestic flights, and two (2) hours before international flights. Passengers should allow themselves enough time for check-in and security screening in order to get to their gate 30 minutes before their scheduled flight.

1. Plan to Arrive Early

On the peak travel days of Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, getting through security can take longer at MOB.

2

2. Checked Baggage

Pack your luggage in layers, this will increase visibility when TSA screens your checked bags at check-in. Place all liquids larger than 3.4 ounces in your checked baggage and avoid packing items on TSA’s prohibited list.

3. Luggage Locks

If you lock your luggage, keep in mind TSA has been given master keys under the Safe Skies Luggage and Travel Sentry. This allows TSA to avoid certain locks to inspect luggage. To learn more, view TSA’s screening tips.

4. Luggage Locks

All carry-on items must be screened at the security checkpoints. When you're packing your carry-on, pack items in layers, make sure all liquids follow the 3-1-1 rule, and avoid any prohibited materials. View TSA's 'What Can I Bring?' tips.

5. Liquids Rule

You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids in your carry-on. All liquids must follow the 3-1-1 rule; liquids should be in travel-size containers that are 3.4 ounces or less per item. Any container larger than 3.4 ounces must be in checked baggage. There are exceptions for passengers traveling with medicine or baby formula food. Please view TSA’s special screening procedures.

6. Electronics

Electronic devices larger than a cell phone must be removed from carry-on bags and placed in separate bins for screening.

7

7. Food

Food is allowed in carry-on bags. While it is not required, please consider removing food or snacks from your carry-on during screening.

8

8. Gate access

Only ticketed passengers with an ID can access the gates. There are exceptions for children under the age of 18.

9. Proper Identification

If you are over the age of 18, you must show identification at the security checkpoint in order to travel. Check TSA permitted forms of identification.
